Erdemli, on the coast west of Mersin city, is known for its citrus orchards and greenhouses, a long strip of summer-home estates from Kocahasanlı to Ayaş and Kızkalesi, and highland villages in the Taurus Mountains. A prefab house in Erdemli or a compact tiny house can work in all three settings, as long as the build is matched to the local conditions.
Orchard and greenhouse plots
Many orchard owners live in the city and visit during pruning, spraying and harvest. A single-storey prefab house with a kitchen, shower room and a small storage section works well here. Irrigation and greenhouses raise local humidity, so we raise the floor off the ground, use moisture-resistant materials underneath and ventilate the wet areas properly. Rules for agricultural land are specific, so check what is permitted before you plan.
The Kocahasanlı – Ayaş – Kızkalesi coast
This coastline has a strong summer-home culture and many foreign and domestic visitors in season. Typical uses include a simple summer home on a zoned plot, a guest unit in the garden where rules allow, or small seasonal rental units near Kızkalesi. Sea air is tough on steel, so we use galvanised framing and corrosion-resistant paint. Construction near the shoreline is restricted, so always confirm the plot status first.
Taurus highland summer homes
Inland, the highland villages offer cool summer nights but cold, sometimes snowy winters. For these sites we recommend thicker insulation, a pitched roof and transport-friendly module sizes for narrow mountain roads. Solar panels and water tanks are often needed where there is no grid connection, and pipes in a house left empty over winter should be protected against frost.
Which option suits you?
- Orchard house: prefab house with storage.
- Zoned summer plot: prefab house or fixed tiny house.
- Seasonal rentals: compact tiny houses side by side.
- Highland home: well-insulated prefab or steel house.

Delivery from our Silifke workshop
Our workshop is in Ulugöz, Silifke, roughly 50 km from Erdemli along the coastal road, which keeps site visits, delivery and after-sales service straightforward. Inside orchards, the real constraints are the gap between trees and whether the ground can take a crane or truck, which we check during the free site visit. On the summer-home estates, we usually suggest installing outside the peak season, when traffic and estate rules make deliveries easier. Zoning and land rules vary by plot, so please confirm with the municipality.
